Common Questions

Before You Book — Quick Answers

Everything you need to know about your first appointment with OnPoint.

The first appointment is a free 20-minute consultation — no obligation. We review your business situation, entity type, and filing history, then give you a flat-fee quote for the work. If you decide to move forward, we'll send you a document checklist and get started. Most clients leave the first call with a clear picture of what they owe, what they'll pay us, and what they can do to pay less next year.

For a new business client we typically need: last year's business and personal tax returns, your EIN confirmation letter, a profit & loss statement or bank statements for the current year, any 1099s or W-2s issued or received, and a list of major asset purchases. Don't worry if you're missing something — we'll walk you through exactly what's needed and send you a checklist.

Both options work perfectly. Most of our clients work with us entirely remotely via secure document sharing and video calls. If you prefer to meet in person, our Manhattan office is at 100 Church St and our NJ office is at 28 Valley Road in Montclair. You choose what's most convenient.

Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days once we have all your documents. During peak season (February–April) it may be 2–3 weeks. If you have a hard deadline — a bank loan, investor due diligence, or an IRS notice — let us know upfront and we'll prioritize accordingly.

Absolutely — catching up on unfiled returns is one of our most common engagements, and the first appointment is the right place to start. We'll review your situation, estimate your liability, and give you a clear plan and flat-fee quote. Most clients are relieved to find the process is more manageable than they feared.

Still have questions? We're happy to talk through your specific situation — no obligation.
